Dear Leanna: Your column is often useful, but I was appalled last week to see an expert say it was OK to give a first-grader an iPad for Christmas just because she wants one. Kids don’t need more time alone with expensive digital devices. They need more ways to be plugged into their families. Don’t you think this holy season is a good time to make it a yearlong habit?
