Through his management company, Summit Communications, Stephen consults with summer camps, schools, colleges and communities about issues related to youth development and decision-making, including favorable youth outcomes (including positive identity formation, character development and social entrepreneurship) and risk reduction (related to such issues as underage drinking, other drug use, early intimate sexual behavior, bullying, violence, and suicide).

Stephen is also a national trainer for the American Camp Association and a faculty member of its e-Institute for Professional Development.  He offers staff training, train-the-trainers, and teen leadership materials and services to camps nationwide. He also works on youth health and safety initiatives, including as a member of the professional development faculty at the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Finally, Summit also provides professional consulting related to government affairs, crisis communications and marketing.
